Axpo Solutions AG has successfully completed the first-ever ship-to-ship (STS) LNG bunkering operation at the Port of Sines, Portugal.
As announced on 5 July, the bunkering operation delivered 2,700 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the container vessel MSC Togo.
Conducted under Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS), the transfer followed international safety and operational standards.
According to the social media announcement, this marks a significant advancement for LNG bunkering infrastructure in Southern Europe and also aligns with Axpo’s broader commitment to maritime decarbonisation.
